For a state with 38 million people, it's remarkably easy to find some great back roads. There are even quiet places just outside of the megalopolises of San Francisco and LA. The question begs: are Californians a bit strange? Why aren't they all out enjoying these roads? (on second thought, don't answer that)

Whether it's exploring the beautiful coastline, driving through redwoods, criss-crossing the Sierra Nevadas or baking in the desert – there's probably a road with your name on it.
